Best Hair Mask Recipes

Getting luscious hair can be difficult; there’s so much that can damage our hair or cause long-lasting issues if you’re not careful. I recommend hair masks to keep those strands healthy, but because there’s so many to try I decided to make things easier by coming up with a short list of the best hair mask recipes you can create effortlessly at home.

Restructuring Mask
via YouBeauty

Ingredients
– 1 medium banana
– 2 ounces of water
– 1/4 cup of mayonnaise
– 1 tbsp coconut oil
– 1 tbsp olive oil
– 1 tbsp jojoba oil
– 2 tbsp organic honey

If you have problems with brittle hair or split ends, this strengthening restructuring hair mask is the perfect choice. Blend half of a banana into two ounces of water; add a quarter cup of mayonnaise and one tablespoon of coconut oil.

Normally, you can just use the coconut oil alone as its own coconut oil hair mask, but it works well with these other ingredients, too. Into this mixture, add one tablespoon of olive oil and one tablespoon of jojoba oil. Once you have that mixed together, add two tablespoons of honey and strain the mixture before applying it from the ends to the roots.

Egg Mask
via Bellatory

Ingredients
– 1 egg
– 1 cup of milk
– 1 lemon
– 2 tbsp of olive oil

This hair mask recipe can seem a little icky, but trust me it’s worth it. To make it, you first need to separate the egg white from the yolk and take the whites and beat them in a bowl. Then add one cup of milk and two tablespoons of olive oil to the gooey mixture and continue to mix it well before adding one squeeze of lemon to it. Massage this mixture into your scalp from root to tip and leave for 15 minutes before rinsing thoroughly with warm water and an organic shampoo.

Yoghurt, Honey and Olive Oil Mask
via DIY Natural

Ingredients
– 1 tsp olive oil
– 1 tbsp honey
– 1/4 cup plain yoghurt

This is the best hair mask for dry hair or anyone that has a problem with greasy follicles; it’s a little sticky but it’s incredibly easy to make. You don’t need to be a makeup artist or beauty expert to knock this out in minutes.

To start, take one tablespoon of olive oil and mix with one tablespoon of honey, pour this into one-quarter cup of plain, unsweetened yoghurt and mix to a paste. Apply the mixture to your hair and, after 10 minutes, rinse with warm water.

These hair mask recipes are quick to make and after a few applications, you should find that your hair looks and feels amazing. Plus, they’re all relatively cheap ingredients so you can look your best without breaking the bank.
