Looking your best and staying fit can be difficult and coming up ways to keep fit can also be hard, but I’ve compiled a must-read list of fitness tips you can try to get yourself in better shape.
Choose the right time to exercise
Morning exercise will always boost you for the day, while lunchtime gym routines can tire you out for the rest of the afternoon. However, studies have shown that best time to maximise your fitness routine is between 2pm and 6pm.
Create a fitness plan
Creating a routine is ideal as you can focus your day around your workout. No matter what you work as, be it a plumber or a professional makeup artist, taking time out to exercise should be your goal.
Pick your favourite exercise
Regular exercise in a gym can turn into a chore. One of my gym workout tips is to find something you enjoy and use it as a reward during your workout.
Change the type of exercise regularly
Let’s face it; your workout routine can get pretty boring if you stick to the same thing over and over again. Try to add some variety to keep things interesting by going for a regular walk or try going for a swim after your workout to ease your muscles.
Find an exercise partner
This is one of my most simple yet fun body fitness tips. Bring in a friend to your routine or when you go to the gym. Having someone there will also add some extra competition and motivation for you to work harder.
Try easily digestible snacks
Foods that are easier to digest burn calories better and quicker than normal foods while still providing you with a nice energy boost. Plus, with healthier foods, there’s the added benefit of making your skin look better too.
Exercise at home
If you can’t make it to the gym one day, don’t immediately skip that day as this can lead to bad fitness habits. Instead, invest in some exercise equipment for your home and exercise at home regularly on days when you can’t make it to the gym.
Drink plenty of water
Try to drink plenty of water as not only is it low calorie; it also energises your body. Add fruit to your water to get some extra vitamins.
Avoid fizzy drinks
If you’re craving something sweet, try an apple with peanut butter; sugary fizzy drinks are not only bad for the body, but they’re full of useless calories and destroy your teeth.
Exercise a little after eating
The last of my exercise tips: adding a little light movement after any big meal will help increase your blood flow, aid digestion, and relax your muscles.
Stick to these handy fitness tips, and in no time at all, you should start seeing an improvement in the way you look and feel.
